Members of Our Center at the 38th European Conference on Philosophy of Medicine and Health Care in Rotterdam
Ladies and Gentlemen,
we are delighted to announce that a delegation of our Center took part in the 38th European Conference on Philosophy of Medicine and Health Care, organised by the European Society for Philosophy of Medicine and Healthcare. The conference took place on 25–28 August 2026 in Rotterdam (the Netherlands).
During the event, members of our Center presented the following papers:
- Prof. Maria Boratyńska: “On terminating pregnancy to protect a woman’s mental health and the importance of access to prenatal testing”;
- Dr Joanna Różyńska: “Undue inducement, disparate impact and exploitation in research”;
- Krzysztof Ślaski: “Is loss of chance a bioethical category? – the loss of chance concept as a tool for identifying and solving problems in the healthcare system”;
- Aleksander Wiaderek: “Therapeutic and Non-Therapeutic Circumcision of Boys: Bodily Integrity, Parental Authority, and the Consistency of Legal and Ethical Standards”;
- Michał Kropiwnicki: “Whose Voice Counts? Epistemic Injustice and the Status of the Minor Patient in Psychiatric Care”;
- Barbara Krzyżewska: “Implications of using Medical Software-as-a-Service (MSaaS) for a patient’s integrity”.
The conference was an exceptional opportunity to exchange views at the intersection of medical law and bioethics, and to confront the Polish national approach with the experience of researchers from other European countries.
